CARSON FOX
Co-Founder / CEO
Former jet broker and real estate investor who has bought and sold over 120 properties and represented buyers and sellers as their aircraft broker for turboprops and jets ranging from $2.5M to $20M. A graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, Carson combines disciplined leadership with hands-on experience in aircraft selection, valuation, and a deep understanding of what owners and operators care about. A natural connector, he brings a rare blend of aviation insight and real estate expertise. Obsessed with the details that matter, he co-founded Blackbird to build the high-end hangars no one else would.
Carson serves on the board of CAPA (Carolina Aviation Professional Association) and regularly attends Greenville Downtown Airport commission meetings, with the goal of eventually joining the commission at his home airport.
Outside of aviation, Carson invests deeply in his health through CrossFit and endurance events, and in his family—especially enjoying life as a girl dad and all the moments that come with it. His wife Gina, daughter Hallie, and dog Stella are his world. He also enjoys reading biographies, spending time on Lake Jocassee, and traveling out West with his family. Above all, Carson strives to keep Jesus at the center of everything he does.
RYAN BEDFORD
Co-Founder / Head of Development
After a highly successful Olympic speedskating career, Ryan transitioned his relentless drive into real estate, where he has since led the development and construction of multi-family communities across the country. As a World Champion and 2010 Olympian, he brings the same discipline and focus that once took him to the global stage into every project he takes on.
Ryan began his development career by finishing distressed projects that emerged from the 2008 downturn, then moved into ground-up construction—establishing himself as a strategic and hands-on developer. He is the President of Bedford Development, overseeing entitlements, investment capital, and financing, and in 2019 became CEO of The Kendal Group to grow its management and development portfolio. He also co-founded KB Walker, a national leader in insulated concrete form construction. At Blackbird, he brings structure, speed, and an unwavering commitment to execution—helping build the aviation infrastructure jet owners have always wanted but could never find.
Deeply involved in the Olympic sports community, Ryan helped establish the Athletes Advisory Council for U.S. Speedskating, served on the U.S. Olympic Committee’s Athlete Advisory Council, and currently serves as an Independent Director on the Board of USA Hockey.
When he’s not developing properties or contributing to Olympic governance, Ryan enjoys traveling with his family, coaching alpine skiing, fishing, and playing hockey.
